Chapter 3 Blogging
Chapter 3 was extremely informative about blogging. The various techniques that he described will be most bebefical for my future students. Blogging in the classroom will become an everday occurence and become second nature not only to my students, but for me as well. Thank you Mr. Richardson for helping me to get technology into my lesson plans and classroom, thus getting my classroom connected to the blogging world at large!

The importance of Blogs in education.
Do reflection post based upon the information you have read and researched on blogs in education. How do you feel blogs can assist you in reaching your students? Provide examples from readings and additional research.
Blogs are not just for keeping friends and family updated on your personal thoughts and feelings. True, they a very personalized form of communication, however Blogs are the keys to help allow students to not only put their creative ideas and thoughts on a technological format, but also get connected to the outside world around them. Blogs have become vastly important tools to make the world closer. Students can read the Blogs of fellow students not only in their classroom, or hometown, but in the entire world. We as teacher can easily grade their work in Blogs as well as keep our students informed of future lesson plans and homework. This powerful technology will allow your students to see the world around them and see the vast similarities of the people around them. Blogs will also allow students that cannot easily take world wide vacations to see different parts of the world around them at their fingertips. They will see mountains, snow, different cultures, the ocean etc. Students could see these sights in documentaries, however the Blog allows them to interact with people and cultures from the vastly differeing areas. Blogs allow students to be creative and original by using their imagination, plus it is their individualized personal bit of the internet. It is our role as teachers to prepare our students for the future and Blogs will allow us to access the new communication medium of the future.
